U4GM Reviews Modern Warfare 4 Ballistic Authority

When does Modern Warfare 4 actually come out, and what can I play it on?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is dated for October 23, 2026, which gives it a clear autumn launch slot rather than a vague "holiday" window. It's coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with PC players getting Battle.net, Steam, and Xbox on PC options. If you're already thinking about launch prep, loadout grinding, or MW4 Boosting, the big thing to know is that this isn't a PS4 or Xbox One release. Activision is drawing the line at current hardware this time.

Is Campaign Early Access worth caring about this year?
For a lot of players, yes. Digital pre-orders get Campaign Early Access from October 16, 2026, a full week before the main launch. That applies to the Standard Digital Edition and Vault Edition across the supported digital platforms, though Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are due later in 2026. The Campaign itself sounds more grounded than some recent entries, at least on paper. It starts on the Korean Peninsula after a North Korean invasion, with players stepping into the boots of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier thrown into live combat way too fast.

What's the deal with Captain Price this time?
Price is back, but not in the neat, clean, chain-of-command way. The pitch has him operating from the shadows, chasing revenge and working off the books while the wider war begins to spread. That gives the story two angles: the front-line panic in Korea and Price's darker hunt for a weapon that could tip the balance of power. Missions are said to jump from trenches in Korea to close fights in New York, chases in Paris, SAS raids in Mumbai, and larger city assaults. Sounds busy, sure, but very Modern Warfare.

How different does Multiplayer sound from the last few games?
The main buzzword is Ballistic Authority, but underneath the marketing phrase there are some practical changes players will notice. Bloom is gone, so shots should feel more tied to where you're actually aiming. Recoil, handling, stance changes, audio, visibility, and camera movement are being pulled into one combat feel. Movement is also being opened up with mantling, climbing, hanging, and jumping, though Infinity Ward is still talking about it as grounded soldier movement, not superhero sliding across the map. At launch, there are 12 Core maps, plus Gunfight spaces and Big War maps. Kill Block sounds like the weird one, in a good way, because it can shift between rounds with hundreds of possible layouts.

Is DMZ replacing Zombies in Modern Warfare 4?
Right now, DMZ is the confirmed extraction mode, and Zombies hasn't been announced for Modern Warfare 4. That matters because Modern Warfare III leaned hard into Modern Warfare Zombies, while this game is talking about off-the-books deployments, looting, risky pushes into hostile zones, shifting weather, military objectives, and messy player encounters. Details like squad size, stash rules, insured weapons, and faction missions are still missing. Warzone integration starts with Season 1, and old PS4 and Xbox One Warzone support ends around that shift, so players planning progression routes or cheap MW4 Boosting should keep an eye on Season 1 timing as closely as the launch date.
